Welcome to the website for the Wetheringsett-com-Brockford Neighbourhood Plan.

The Parish Council has decided that your village needs a Neighbourhood Plan.

Why have a Neighbourhood Plan?

At the moment all planning decisions in Wetheringsett-cum-Brockford are made by Mid Suffolk District Council, in line with National and District Planning Policy.

A neighbourhood plan gives local people a say in development because the planning authority is legally bound to take your views into account when they make planning decisions about your village.

· A neighbourhood plan is a powerful tool that gives communities statutory powers to shape how their communities develop.

· It is a document that sets out planning policies for a local area.

· It is used to decide whether to approve planning applications, including new buildings (eg community facilities) or changes to existing buildings.

· It is written by the local community, the people who know and love the area, to ensure the right types of development in the right places.
